Empowering Your Healing Journey: Jayne, Physiotherapist & Clinical Massage Therapist

Welcome to a unique therapeutic experience where you are at the heart of your own health. As a dedicated Physiotherapist and Clinical Massage Therapist, I am committed to guiding you through a healing journey that not only addresses physical discomfort but also enhances your understanding of the intricate mind-body connection that is vital for overall well-being.

My Professional Pathway

I embarked on my holistic healthcare career in 2010, initially as a massage therapist. Quickly, I established a thriving practice, serving a diverse clientele ranging from elite athletes to individuals dealing with everyday stress and physical strain. These rich experiences inspired me to broaden my expertise, leading me to pursue a qualification in physiotherapy. This additional training expanded my ability to offer comprehensive rehabilitation therapies.

My physiotherapy career began within the NHS, where I worked across various rehabilitation settings, honing my skills and gathering a wealth of experience. Eventually, I transitioned back to private practice, driven by a desire to delve deeper into holistic healthcare methodologies. I am committed to lifelong learning and professional development; recently, I added dry needling and foundation level acupuncture to my practice, integrating these techniques into almost every treatment.

Current Endeavours and Future Aspirations

I am currently pursuing certification to become a SIRPA practitioner, a revolutionary approach developed by Georgie Oldfield for full recovery from chronic pain and other debilitating symptoms. To learn more about this innovative method, I encourage you to visit SIRPA’s website https://sirpa.org. While I continue my training, if immediate expert intervention is required, I have established a network of experienced colleagues for referrals.

Life Beyond the Clinic

Living in Scotland offers me endless opportunities to engage with nature, from bracing swims in its icy lochs to rock climbing in the serene highlands. These activities do more than just fill my leisure hours; they deepen my appreciation of physical and mental wellness. In my practice, I integrate these personal insights to offer a holistic perspective on health, aiming to enrich our sessions and foster a balanced approach to recovery.

Reviews

I have been working in healthcare for over twenty years, so I know the difference between someone who is technically competent and someone who is genuinely exceptional. Jayne Fortescue is the latter.

I came to Jayne with a back that had stopped me in my tracks. Not just uncomfortable, but the kind of pain that takes the colour out of everything else. The things I love, my horses, my weekend, my ability to just move through my day, all of it had shrunk down to managing discomfort.

Jayne combined acupuncture and clinical massage in a single treatment, and the results were remarkable. She has a rare ability to listen not just with her ears but with her hands. She found what was holding, what was bracing, and she worked with it rather than against it. There was nothing rushed, nothing mechanical. It felt like being genuinely seen and treated as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.

By the end of the session I felt like someone who could breathe again. I could move again. That sounds simple, but when you have been in pain, getting that back is everything. For me it means I can go and enjoy my horses. I can enjoy my weekend. I have my life back.

Jayne is the kind of therapist that people search for and feel lucky to find. If you are dealing with pain that is limiting your life, do not wait. Book with her.
